SAHAYOG

Maternal & Child Health

At the heart of healthy communities are thriving mothers and children. SAHAYOG is dedicated to championing their well-being in Odisha, with a special focus on poor and marginalized communities. We recognize that a mother and child's health is deeply connected to their socioeconomic environment, and our work addresses these root causes. Our mission is to empower families with vital knowledge and to hold the system accountable.

Our Approach

  • Empowering Families: We equip families with critical knowledge on daily care, recognizing health signals, and observing key milestones. This empowers them to take proactive steps for a healthier future.
  • Building Demand for Services: We conduct training and capacity-building programs to help marginalized communities understand and demand access to essential services like nutrition, social security, safe water, and basic hygiene.
  • Holding Systems Accountable: We use our grassroots experience to advocate for a more responsive public health system. We collaborate with state and national-level advocacy networks to ensure the voices of voiceless women are heard where it matters most.

Our ultimate goal is to raise the voices of marginalized women, improve their health literacy, and increase the accessibility and affordability of maternal health services.
