SAHAYOG

Emergency Response

Emergency Response & Disaster Relief SAHAYOG is committed to swift action and comprehensive support for communities in crisis across Odisha.

COVID-19 Relief Efforts

During the pandemic, we provided vital support, including food, medicine, and cash, to over 2,000 vulnerable families with national support. We conducted extensive online and offline Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns to combat misinformation and vaccine hesitancy. For children orphaned by the pandemic, we identified and connected them with relevant authorities, providing essential educational and nutritional support.

Swift Response to Cyclone FANI (2019)

When Cyclone FANI struck Odisha on May 3, 2019, SAHAYOG's volunteers in Khordha and Jatani Block swiftly cleared blocked roads, chlorinated water sources, and distributed immediate dry food. Our teams rapidly reached 750 tribal households and other needy individuals in Angarpada, Tangiapada, and Nijigrah Tapang G.P. (Jatani and Khordha Block) with essential supplies like clothes, rations, shelter kits, and utensils. This rapid humanitarian effort was officially recognized by the Khordha District administration.

Responding to Cyclones Phailin and Hudhud (Ganjam)

Following these devastating cyclones, SAHAYOG swiftly provided critical aid. We distributed baby food to over a thousand children and organized health check-up camps, supplying essential medicines to more than 2,000 affected individuals across 4 GPs of Ganjam Block. We also provided First Aid Training to volunteers, empowering them to address community health needs during emergencies.
